Did you watch the 70^th annual Golden Globes last night?

Awards season is my favorite time of year – a time when I get to see some of my favorite actors, actresses and directors from television and film honored for their outstanding work.

I was pleased with the majority of the night’s top honors. In the film categories, Anne Hathaway walked away with the “Best Actress in a Supporting Role” nod for her stunning performance in Tom Hooper’s remake of Les Miserables. Daniel Day Lewis took home the “Best Actor” award for his role as the 16^th president of the United States in Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln.

I was also stoked about Christoph Waltz’ win for “Best Supporting Actor” in Django Unchained, and excited for the always delightful Adele, who won for “Best Original Song, Motion Picture” for “Skyfall.”

A couple notable wins in the Television categories included both Damian Lewis and Claire Daines, who took home “Best Actor/Actress, Drama” awards for their work on the hit series, Homeland. And the talented Lena Dunham won “Best Actress in a TV Series, Comedy” for her role on Girls.

And how could you not love Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as hosts?! I thought they did a great job – a breath of fresh air compared to the controversial comedian Ricky Gervais, the Globes’ previous host for the past three years. They were so funny!

Of course as a style aficionado I’m always keeping a close eye on the fashion and footwear picks of the night as well. 🙂

There were a lot of fashion hits from last night – it was hard to choose which actresses to feature here…

As I mentioned, Poehler hit a home run as this year’s Globes co-host. But did you see her red carpet attire? Also just as remarkable! Poehler rocked the red carpet in a gorgeous and perfectly tailored black suit with cropped pants from Stella McCartney with strappy black sandals. On a night when most actresses opted for floor-length gowns, I thought Poehler’s choice was bold, and really fierce.
