Fun ’80s Fashion is Back!
These days there just aren’t enough sax solos.
If you were around in the ’80s or if you’ve ever heard an ’80s song you’ve probably heard some great saxophone solos. Take for example the song Take Me Home Tonight. A new movie is out with the same name and it stars That ’70s Show Star Topher Grace. The movie’s title comes from the 1986 song of the same name from Eddie Money. Watch the music video and you’ll see Eddie rocking out the saxophone solo. And he has the huge crazy pattern shirt straight out of the ’80s.
Take Me Home Tonight – Eddie Money
And you know the best part about the movie?
It’s coming out just as the ’80s are making a comeback in the fashion world.
Take Me Home Tonight Movie
The movie stars Topher Grace and Anna Faris. Topher’s character is caught in flux between his college life and the adult world. He can’t make a decision about what he wants to do. His character and the supporting cast all have one night that changes all of their lives forever. The plan is to head to the party of the year and things look like they’ll get pretty crazy.
Everything appears to be in line with the era including the songs, the big hair, the neon colors and the fashion.
The styles were pretty crazy and unique in the ’80s. We’re now starting to see kids and young adults taking cues from 20 years ago. Skinny jeans. Big hi-top sneakers. Short pants with flat shoes. I’m not sure if the big flipped over bangs will come back in style… I also don’t know if the guys will start wearing the skinniest ties in the world anymore.

Basketball hi-tops were big in the ’80s. Everybody was wearing their hi-tops as casual shoes. The shoes worked on the gym floor and with tight rolled jeans. The shoes were high and the jeans were tight. This new release from Reebok is sure to draw comparisons and take parents back to the days when they ruled the school.
PF Flyers Center Hi Sneaker
PF Flyers have been a staple in American fashion culture for decades. The style is timeless as is the comfort. Back in they ’80s these shoes were popular with the casual crowd and they’re still popular today. This latest version of the classic hi-top has a few updates from the old styles, but for the most part you’ll feel like you’re back in the ’80s just looking for a good time on Saturday night.
