84th Annual Academy Awards Fashion Recap
Hollywood’s top film stars shined at the 84th Annual Academy Awards. The Artist star Jean Dujardin took home “Best Actor” honors, while Meryl Streep won “Best Actress” for her role in The Iron Lady. “Best Picture” went to The Artist, the first silent film since 1929 to win top honors. There were many memorable moments from last night’s awards, from Octavia Spenser’s “Best Supporting Actress” win and heartfelt acceptance speech, to Billy Crystal’s charming song-and-dance number at the beginning of the awards. I was absolutely elated that he decided to come back to host the ceremony!
There were so many scene-stealing fashion choices last night as well – there’s not really anyone I could place on my “Worst Dressed” list. 🙂
Academy Awards: Top Fashion Picks
Variations of black, white and bold hues were popular choices last night. Here are a few of the top style stars from this year’s ceremony.
Michelle Williams

Williams exudes “Old Hollywood” style. She chose a strapless peplum gown in coral from Louis Vuitton that was absolutely breathtaking. Williams, who was nominated for her role as Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn, was a modern day bombshell on last night’s red carpet.

The Bridesmaids star looked stunning last night! She opted for a black sequined gown by Vivienne Westwood with black peep toe pumps from Jimmy Choo. Her makeup was flawless, and I have to admit, her fierce new shoulder-length bob made me consider cutting my hair! 🙂

The Help star Jessica Chastain wore a beautiful black and gold-embellished Alexander McQueen gown that stood out for all the right reasons. Her choice was a bit out-of-the-ordinary, but to me, defined all-out glamour and style.

Jean Dujardin

My choice for the most stylish man of the night was “Best Actor” winner Jean Dujardin. Another star who successfully channeled “Old Hollywood” style, Dujardin looked absolutely dapper in his tux from Lanvin. He not only became the first French actor to take home top actor honors, but made many “Best Dressed” lists for his smart style as well.

Uggie The Dog

I can’t wrap up without giving honorable mention to perhaps the most popular star of The Artist, Uggie The Dog. 🙂 Uggie has become a regular on the red carpet this awards season, and given his profound cuteness, he definitely gets my vote for “Best Dressed Canine.” 🙂
