Celeb Style Alert: Julianne Moore

Julianne MooreAnd the Oscar goes to…

Last night marked the denouement of Awards Season, the 87th Annual Academy Awards. And what a magnificent final act it was!

Host Neil Patrick Harris opened the show with a great musical number and kept the audience entertained throughout the night. In his acceptance speech, J.K. Simmons, winner for “Best Supporting Actor” gave a very heartfelt thank you to his parents, stating,

“If you’re lucky enough to have a parent or two alive on this planet, call ’em. Don’t text. Don’t’ email. Call them on the phone. Tell ’em you love ’em, and thank them and listen to them for as long as they want to talk to you.”

“Best Supporting Actress” winner Patricia Arquette also gave a rousing speech, taking a moment to stress the importance of equal rights and pay for women.

“To every woman who gave birth, to every taxpayer and citizen of this nation, we have fought for everybody else’s equal rights. It’s our time to have wage equality once and for all for women in the United States of America,” she said.

Other most-talked about and trending moments of the night included Common and John Legend’s powerful performance of “Glory” from the Civil Rights-era film, Selma; Lady Gaga stunning the crowd and veteran actress Julie Andrews, as she sang songs from The Sound of Music; Eddie Redmayne’s win for “Best Actor” for The Theory of Everything; and the surprise “Best Picture” win for Birdman.

On the fashion front, the big colors of the night were red and white. In my book, there really weren’t any looks from the evening I *didn’t like. I absolutely loved Emma Stone, who stunned in Elie Saab Haute Couture, Lady Gaga (yes, Lady Gaga!) in a custom-made Alaia gown, Lupita Nyong’o in Calvin Klein and nominee Rosamund Pike, who looked flawless in Givenche.

My “Best Dressed” award however, goes to “Best Actress” winner Julianne Moore, who was the epitome of glamour in a sparkling strapless gown from Chanel Couture. Seriously, everything about Moore’s look was on-point. The sleek hair. The makeup. The earrings. To. Die. For!! <3

Always thinking ahead about the latest trends, Moore’s look not only had me thinking about Red Carpet fashion – but also wedding season! 🙂 Yes, wedding season will be here before we know it, and Moore’s gown had a touch of high-fashion bridal style. I had a hard time finding a pic of Moore’s footwear from the evening, but I did discover a score of shoes that would look perfect with a gown similar to hers. Here’s a look for less I think would be stunning with an evening or bridal gown, that will have you feeling like an A-list celeb on your big day.

Steve Madden Suzanna (Women’s)

It’s your time to shine – and this chic sandal from Steve Madden will enhance your true beauty! How gorgeous are those micro jewel accents along the sleek vamp and ankle strap? Such a perfect complement to the simple natural hue of the faux suede upper. And unlike the hefty price tags attached to the shoes Moore paired with her couture gown, the Suzzana is just $99.95! You’ll definitely be a star when you step onto the red carpet – or aisle in this elegant style!
