Emma Thompson Hand and Footprint Ceremony

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to see your hands and feet permanently engraved in Hollywood? How do you even pick an outfit for this occasion? Emma Thompson had the honor of doing this on November 7th in front of the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. She was accompanied by her co-star from the upcoming film, “Saving Mr. Banks,” Tom Hanks.
Thompson has starred in many films including “Sense and Sensibility,” “The Remains of the Day,” “Love Actually,” the “Harry Potter” series and more. And in “Saving Mr. Banks”, she stars as “Mary Poppins” writer P.L. Travers. The film is set in 1964, and focuses on the two weeks that Walt Disney (played by Hanks) follows Travers around Los Angeles, in an attempt to persuade her to give him the film rights to her famous novel.
What’s the perfect outfit to wear when you will be getting both your hands and feet dirty? I’m not sure there is a perfect answer, but I know that Thompson did a great job. She wore a stunning red, black, and white dress, and paired it with red dangling earrings and black heels with an ankle strap. She was thinking ahead with an ankle strap on her shoe!
Find heels that are Hollywood-cement ready and match Emma Thompson’s footprint!
Steve Madden Women’s Realove Sandal
Here’s a shoe that allows you to show off your toes while you get them a little dirty. There is a secure ankle strap to ensure it doesn’t slip off, should the cement be a little sticky.
Chinese Laundry Women’s Joy Ride Sandal
If you are searching for a little thicker ankle strap here it is. The Joy Ride has a zipper in the back but looks adorable with two buckles on the side. Plus, you can still show off those newly painted toenails.
Steve Madden Women’s Carriie Sandal
These shoes add a little sparkle as you walk in, and you might even leave some in the cement as you step out. They are stunning and work great for parties, but they might not be ideal for cement walking. You’ll have to test it out and see what happens.
