Ever dream of one day being a big celebrity where everyone knows your name?  Have you ever seen your name in the stars? Personally, I cannot imagine what it would be like to be a Hollywood celebrity and have constant attention and press surrounding me. Beyond that, I have no idea how I would feel to have a star with my name engraved in it on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Could you imagine walking down the side walk, looking down, and seeing your name inside a big brass shiny star? Not only would your name be there, but you would be located next to other celebrities who have made great contributions to the world just like you have. . .this would feel so crazy to me!

It might be a far-fetched dream for me, but every year about 20 celebrities have a star with their name added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This walk is 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and 3 blocks of Vine Street home to 2,512 stars.

The walk consists of five different categories within the entertainment industry. These areas include: Classic Films camera, Television Receiver, Phonograph Record, Radio Microphone, and Comedy/Tragedy Masks. About 47% of the stars on the walk are awarded in Classic Film Camera, followed by 24% in Television Receiver. On average, about 20 new stars are added to the walk each year.

Jennifer Hudson had the honor of receiving a star this past week. She is being added for her contributions to the recording industry. Many know Hudson as starting her career in 2004 during the third season of American Idol when she took seventh place. Since then, she has been singing and acting her way through Hollywood. Hudson’s star is located in front of W. Hollywood Hotel on 6262 Hollywood Boulevard. While she was placing her star she was joined by her loving family, her husband, David Otunga Sr., and her son, David Otunga Jr. They were both overjoyed for her as they shared in this amazing moment in Jennifer’s life.

When given this grand honor, what do you possibly wear? Hudson chose a stunning white dress that went perfectly with her new pixie haircut! She added nude and white heels to finish off her star studded outfit. She was paired with her husband who was sporting a black suit and grey vest.
