“This man and I have some unfinished business,” James Bond – Quantum of Solace 2008

The character is as iconic as it gets. James Bond has been around in motion pictures for nearly fifty years and ten years prior in the novels. It actually looks like Bond 23 will be set for release in 2012 as the 50th anniversary of the original Dr. No picture from 1962.

The first James Bond I remember seeing was Goldeneye. My dad was always watching the older movies, but I never really got into it until I saw the appearance of Pierce Brosnan as 007. Since then I’ve been a fan of each movie with Casino Royale really standing out as one of my favorites. I’ve also checked out the older ones. You can spend a whole weekend entertained with the Bond film collection.

After such a weekend you’ll surely come away with some style inspiration as well.

James Bond Shoes

Thanks to the great resource James Bond Lifestyle for providing insight into James Bond Clothing.

Through the years James Bond has been known for wearing the best suits in the business. The fabrics are always quality and the accessories are upscale to match.

While 007 has been famous for his suits his shoes have been stylish and functional as well. There have always been the classic black dress shoes worn by the staples Connery, Moore, and Brosnan, but in the last two movies things have even gotten more functional for Craig. Athletics and casuals have appeared alongside the dress shoes to give Bond the much needed durability his job require.

Let’s check out a few of today’s shoe styles that resemble those in the Bond films.

The classic black cap-toe dress shoes is available from various shoe makers all with slightly different methods and materials going into the process. This particular pair from Bass is heading out the door so be sure to pick it up if you’re looking for a comfortable and classic black dress shoe. Leather uppers with leather soles have usually been the status symbol for men’s suits, but for added traction I’m sure there were some composite or rubber on the bottom of 007’s shoes.

Chukkas are great for mobility. They allow you to move about in comfort while providing the right amount of stability for your ankles. This rugged pair from Fossil is brand new for this spring and summer season. Waxed canvas and leather gives these chukkas a cool look with the durability necessary to jump from building to building perhaps?

Stacy Adams is a throwback to the classic men’s styles of the past. Here we have a cap-toe black dress shoe shined up real nice. This look is perfect for the James Bond-type suit or tux. If you’re working in the office or playing poker at Casino Royale these will be sure to stand out as classic, sharp, and debonair.

I included these driving style slip-ons from Steve Madden for a couple reasons. In the last few films Bond has been going casual in a few instances. These go great for the beach settings with linen apparel. Bond is also well known for his driving skills (Who doesn’t want an Aston Martin?) and I’m sure a good pair of driving shoes would help. 😉

There have been a couple times when James Bond has been in the jungle or in the rough outdoor elements. I’ve personally never tried to run around on the dirt and sand in dress shoes, but I can’t imagine it would be easy. New Balance shoes like these are made for the elements and 007 stands a much better chance of catching the bad guy when wearing these.
