Stars and screaming fans turned out in droves Monday night for the world premiere of the highly anticipated film The Hunger Games at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre. The first of four planned films based on the best-selling novel by Suzanne Collins opens in theatres everywhere on March 23^rd.

The Hunger Games is set in a dystopian future in the country of Panem. The “Capitol,” a booming metropolis that has absolute power over the rest of the nation, holds an annual event, The Hunger Games, where a boy and girl from several different regions are selected by lottery to compete in a televised battle where only one can survive. The story’s main character, Katniss Everdeen, volunteers to take her younger sister’s place after she’s selected for the latest match.

With industry insiders predicting bigger box office numbers than any of the films from the Twilight series, The Hunger Games is definitely one you may want to check out.  At Monday’s black carpet premiere, there were some great fashion and footwear choices, with many of today’s rising stars rocking some of the season’s hottest footwear trends.
