Yogi Bear is Still Out to Steal Picnic Baskets
That lovable lug Yogi Bear is back in pop culture this weekend.

A live action and cartoon movie featuring the classic Hanna-Barbera character is back and this time he’s on the big screen. Yogi Bear teams up with his best bud Boo-Boo for more rousing action and picnic basket snatching.
The movie features the voices of Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake. The pair nail the voices of the characters. Aykroyd even hits it perfect with Yogi’s classic three syllable “pic-a-nic basket”.
I remember watching the old Hanna-Barbera reruns on TV with my dad. They were back from his generation so he loved sitting there with me on an afternoon. We’d watch for hours both laughing and pointing at the crazy things Yogi tried to do as he struggled to get those baskets from the Jellystone Park visitors.
I loved the original cartoons and could still watch those episodes. I’m not sure if I’ll make it to the movie in the theaters or not. What I loved about the cartoons was they were mostly based on one of Yogi’s schemes to steal a basket or try to break out of Jellystone. Hopefully the story in the movie will be just as clever. I’m sure it will be lots of fun for kids and for adults.
