Summer is coming to an end and while most love the summer sun there is no reason to fear fall when it comes to fashion. There are new trends coming in fashion and you can be the first of your friends to stand out as the weather cools.

One trend you’ll see on the streets and in the school hallways is military fashion. The trend is big for both genders. Young and old alike will be heading out in military styled jackets and shirts.

Various versions of the military hat will be seen on the street. Greens, browns, and camos will be all over the place. Be sure to have a few military styles in your closet this spring to cash in on this latest trend. The military trend has an urban appeal with a little rugged and edgy style that sets off your entire look.

Military Fashion is starting to gain attention in the blogosphere. A few celebrities including supermodel Kate Moss are even starting to show off their military style.

The September issues are starting to roll around, and with them those deemed important enough to grace their covers. Vogue UK went for the steadfast yet somehow rather safe option of Kate Moss. Photographed by Patrick Demarchelier and wearing little but one of Burberry Prorsum’s fabulous military coats, we do note that Kate isn’t promoted as being a model for the issue but rather as a stylist.

Kate looks great as always and the military uniform gives her a little edge, but put together look.

Military trend was initially popularized during the 60s, only as a protest to the Vietnam War. Later the craze spread rapidly as a mode of fashion; with the hippies taking all its credit. Trench coats, berets, and jackets have enjoyed seasons of popularity in the past, and camouflage was a hot favorite; especially for teenagers. Now, the military trend has made a come back. This trend is seen in various formal dresses. Trends of military fashion for 2010 are mostly inspired by the military uniforms of the 20th century.

Basic shades for this trend are brown and green. Grey and green are the hues that dominate the scene with other shades of blue and black. Napoleon styled jackets with high stand collars, hussar influenced garments with a gold border, and admiral coats with an air of command in it; military craze makes its unique fashion statement. Army green is seen in cropped shearling collared coats and loose fitting cargo pants.
