I’ll admit it – the majority of my evening Sunday was dedicated to the 2011 Grammy red carpet and award show. A few key shoe trends definitely stood out to me as I watch the stars parade across my tv. Shimmer and glitter were everywhere, with many celebs jazzing up their footwear with sparkly embellishments. I also noticed a lot of peep toed pumps. And the heels! I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of the shoes I saw had at least 5″ stilettos. To help you sort through some Grammy fashion trends, I’ve compiled a list of five celebrity red carpet appearances from Sunday night – complete with shoe recommendations should you want to [ . . . ]
Watch out Donald! Last night on NBC, Rockport took over Trump’s boardroom on The Apprentice. I made sure to be home and ready to watch as nine o’clock rolled around. Normally I’ll watch The Apprentice if I think of it, but this week I wanted to be sure to catch the Rockport shoe fashion shows. I’m glad I did. Not only did I get a peek at some great new styles, but I also got to see an Apprentice first! (Note – Spoilers ahead! The past five years or so, I’ve really felt like there has been a lack of good, old-fashion sitcoms on tv. The end of NBC’s Friends was a huge deal to me. I was a freshman in college as the series was winding down and got into the habit of watching each new episode with the girls in my dorm. Since finding out that Ross & Rachel did end up together and realizing that Joey’s spin-off was no substitute for the real thing, I haven’t found too many comedies that hold my attention the way Friends did. Thanks goodness for [ . . . ]
I love reading – news, magazines, books – it doesn’t matter. So when my co-workers were talking about starting a book club last winter, I was all in. I had never been involved in one before and it sounded like a lot of fun! So far we’ve read our way through some diverse books, with meetings focused around food and fun. We’ve taken a more laidback approach this summer, choosing book/movie combos and holding our meetings at the local movie theater. Yesterday was our August get-together. After dinner at Olive Garden we headed over to watch [ . . . ]
I don’t know why, but I was surprised to hear that Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green had gotten married a couple of weeks ago. It had just become public knowledge that she had received (and promptly lost) another engagement ring from Brian. I figured there would be the obligatory year long planning period before the wedding. Silly me – since when has Megan Fox been known as traditional?
That’s one of the things that most impresses me about her. She may be famous, but [. . . ]
Sandra Bullock has had a tough time of late. I’m sure most people are aware of the issues she has been having in her marriage to Jesse James. I’ve spent the last couple of months hoping that some good news would be coming her way, while the whole time she has been keeping a joyful secret – make that a bundle of joy secret!
According to People.com, Sandra and Jesse were in the process of adopting a newborn son named [ . . . ]
I’m not going to lie – if the Packers aren’t in the Super Bowl, I only watch for the newest commercials. I love choosing a favorite from among the wacky, high-priced spots. I won’t turn down a good football feast either – bring on the chicken wings and chips! I can’t wait!
If I’m forced to watch a football game, the Colts versus the Saints isn’t so bad. I adore Peyton Manning. No, not for his athletic prowess [ . . . ]
